about

In 2018 I visited my sister in Dundee Scotland. In her attic I re-discovered a bunch of cassettes I had left there ten years earlier. The tapes were of the music I made in the late nineteen eighties and early nineteen nineties. This stuff was made nearly thirty years ago!

The music I made back then was all solo stuff using limited recording technology (fourtrack cassette recorder) and cheap /toy/ junk instruments. The resultant sound quality is very lofi for the above reason and also because these tapes are so old!

The four track pictured is the actual machine I used all that time ago. I found that in my sisters attic too and it still works. So I proceeded to make a few copies of some of the stuff so I could release it here on Bandcamp. For posterity more than anything else. And I may add to it.

The collection should really be called the Found Tapes but I think lost tapes sounds better. You may think better they remain lost...
